Admissions Process & FAQ

Preparing for Residential Treatment

If you find yourself among the millions of people who battle with addiction and want to stop, chances are you have questions as to where to start. We’re here to help. We offer custom addiction, mental health and wellness services, and among them is our residential treatment program. What follows is a guide to preparing for such a program.

Preparing for Admission

There is a basic four-step process for preparing for admission to a residential stay at Defining Wellness Centers. However, before we even begin, please be sure you’re mentally prepared for both detox and being a resident with us.

1

The Phone Call

You’re already on our website, and you can of course start the admission process in different ways from here, but regardless of how you start, you’ll want to make sure you have some documents and information readily available:

About that last one, whether you write it down or verbalize it, be specific about substance use frequency, past or present, as well as any other associated mental health issues. It’s extremely important to be honest. Only you know the truth of your situation, and we can only help if we know too.

2

Payment/Insurance

Be sure to have up-to-date insurance information, as well as payment method. Recovery unfortunately isn’t free, but it’s been proven time and time again that addiction treatment programs save you money in the long run, on average. Consider the cost of substances, the cost of lost work, the cost of poor financial decisions, and most importantly, the emotional cost on you and your loved ones.

Also, we recommend checking with your insurance company prior to admission about whether or not they cover costs for addiction treatment. Most companies offer some sort of help in this case, but there are instances where they do not.

3

Travel Arrangements

Obviously if you’re entering into a residential treatment program, you’re going to need a ride. Yes, we do live in the era of Uber and Lyft, (and taxis are still around in some places), but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, some places don’t have available services yet. Whether you have a friend or family member bring you or utilize a ride-sharing service, you’ll be heading toward the right decision.

4

Arrival, and all that comes with it

We’re here to ensure your transition into residential treatment is smooth and simple. Our team of professionals and specialists are available 24/7 to cater to all of your recovery needs.

We even offer private cottages for clients in which you’ll have all the amenities you can think of. To boot, we also offer red light laser therapy, an on-site fitness center, personal trainers, and an executive chef. We believe in a well-rounded approach to recovery, and through healthy living and consistent sobriety, we can help you achieve your goals.

Preparing for the Stay

When you call, or chat, or show up in person, one of our trained professionals will go over all of the explicit details of what it means to stay with us. Each program is customized for each individual client, and so upon this initial meet, everyone will have a better idea of how long you’ll stay and what it will entail. Of course, there are some basics.

Don't forget any of the following!

On the other side of this coin is the list of things you should absolutely NOT bring along:

Of course, aside from drugs and weapons, if there are items you feel you’ll need, simply ask. We’re available for you and any questions you may have at 1-855-790-9303. Come and get a tour of one of our programs and see for yourself how comfortable and peaceful (and private) a residential treatment program is with Defining Wellness.
