Admissions Question?

If you find yourself among the millions of people who battle with addiction and want to stop, chances are you have questions as to where to start. We’re here to help.

If you or a loved one has an addiction, there is no reason to struggle on your own. Proper care from professionals can make a huge difference to your journey. Texas drug rehabs help people unpack the cause of their addiction and find ways of fighting off cravings. Texas residents who are ready to recover have plenty of excellent drug treatment options available.

Texas’ Substance Abuse Problem

As one of the largest states in the United States, it is no surprise that Texas has a high number of residents with addictions. Government estimates indicate that almost two million people in Texas have a substance use disorder. Alcohol is the most common cause of addiction in Texas, with people of all ages and races reporting alcohol use disorders. Some of the other common causes of addiction in Texas include opioids, cocaine, and methamphetamines. Opioids are particularly concerning since they have such a high risk of overdose. In a single year, over 1,400 Texas residents had a fatal opioid overdose.

Explore Texas Drug Rehabs

Most Texas drug and alcohol rehab centers are divided into inpatient and outpatient programs. An inpatient rehab is one where you live on-site for the duration of your treatment. This makes it easy for you to get care at any time, and it provides a helpful sense of accountability. Outpatient rehab just requires you to visit a center a few times a week, and you follow your normal schedule for the rest of the time. This can be useful when you still have to go to work or care for children, but it is not advisable for more severe cases.

Any effective Texas drug or alcohol treatment will provide a blend of therapies designed to address your unique problems. Much of rehab is spent in both individual and group counseling. These forms of psychotherapy help you take a close look at why you have been using drugs. They can provide encouragement and motivation for sobriety, and they can help you find ways to stay sober even when you encounter addiction triggers.

There are also more unique forms of therapy that help those in certain situations. Many people benefit from holistic therapies that encourage them to exercise, create, and explore. These treatments help improve general wellbeing and assist with rebuilding your life. Those who have a co-occurring mental disorder like depression will need dual diagnosis treatment that addresses both problems. For people with an opioid use disorder, medication-assisted treatment can provide you with safe drugs that reduce opioid cravings.

Why Travel for Rehab?

There are many excellent substance use treatment centers available in Texas, but traveling out of state has some unique benefits. Addiction can be closely linked to the environment. Travelling ensures you are far away from any environment that is linked to your addiction. It can be hard to recover when you are constantly seeing friends you used to drink or do drugs with. Just being in the same area and visiting spots you used to spend time in before sobriety can be quite triggering. By going somewhere entirely new, you experience a more positive environment without any subconscious mental links to your addiction. This helps you focus entirely on your new commitment to sobriety.

Going somewhere new also provides you with a more relaxing environment. Texas alcohol rehabs in your hometown might make it easy for you to get caught up in family drama, work stress, or financial worries. When you travel for rehab, it is almost like a mini-vacation. Of course, you still have plenty of hard work to do, but it is in an environment that is as stress-free as possible.

A final reason you may want to travel for rehab is if the Texas drug rehabs near you do not offer the treatments you need. For example, if you would prefer Texas luxury rehab but live in a very rural area, you may need to travel to get the experience you want. Some Texas alcohol rehabs tend to be a bit on the simpler side, so they may not have more experimental or holistic therapies. The right rehab has a huge influence on your overall success, so it is worth investing in the right facility. You may find that traveling to your ideal rehab is a better choice than settling for a less appealing option just because it is near your home.
